Hand dyed Merino d’Arles fibre

Only 1 left in stock

Mostly shades of emerald green and ultramarine blue, with splashes of pinky red and purple. Would love to spin this myself, it will produce a stunning yarn!

This Merino d’Arles fibre comes from sheep raised in Provence, where their shepherds take them up to the mountains in the summer to escape the heat - this journey is known as the transhumance and it’s quite a spectacle to see all the flocks joining together and forming a procession through the village streets.

The fibre is incredibly soft yet bouncy, 21.5 microns, and felts beautifully as well as producing lofty, springy yarn. A total joy.

This fibre is NOT superwash so any items you create will need to be hand washed.
